Stéphane Brizé, known for his films Mademoiselle Chambon, A Life, and The Measure of a Man, presents us once again with a political film. In this extraordinary film, renowned actor Vincent Lindon portrays an outspoken, resilient, and unafraid worker spokesperson, observing the struggle of 1,100 workers of a factory facing closure as they fight to protect their jobs. Brizé interviewed workers, human resources managers, CEOs, and lawyers representing both workers and employers, in order to incorporate contrasting perspectives into the film. Competing for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, At War, as Brizé puts it, delves into the comparison between the human and economic dimensions: Can these two worlds possibly intersect? Can they coexist side by side in today's world?
